SEASONS IN INDIA
In India, we have three major seasons.
Winter: Winter starts in November and lasts until the end of February. It gets very cold in North India. When there is unusually cold weather with very cold winds, it is known as a 'cold wave'.It is not so cold in South India as it is in North India.
Summer: Summer begins in March and continues till June. It becomes very hot in April, May and June. The hot and dry winds that blow in North India in summer are called 'loo'. The places that are close to the sea in South India experience less extreme summer.
Rainy season: Rainy season starts in June-July and usually ends at the beginning of November. The rains come in the week of the June in places near the western coast such as Kerala, while in the rest of the country, they usually come in the first week of July. In South India, especially in Tamil Nadu, the maximum rainfall occurs in October and December.
